Animated QR codes for screens, posters and TV
Start from one of 13 animated MostlyQR designs, place the code on a poster, card or screen canvas, and publish only when it scans in every frame. It stays a dynamic MostlyQR link you can repoint later.
Animated designs start in MostlyQR Pro · one Mostly Tiny account · the code stays a dynamic linkHow it works
Start from an animated code
In MostlyQR, open the Motion step (Pro) and choose one of 13 animated designs. Every frame is checked with a real QR decoder. Then press Customise in MostlyRender.
Compose the canvas
Place the code anywhere on a poster, card, square, 16:9 TV or 9:16 story canvas. Add text and image layers or your own artwork, with live guardrails on size, contrast and placement.
Publish when it scans
Publishing waits until the code is scan-safe in every frame. Export a PNG still, and repoint the dynamic link later without touching the design.
Questions
What is an animated QR code?
A QR code whose design moves — a pulsing heartbeat, a scan line, foil, an LED matrix — while the code itself stays a standard QR. MostlyQR has 13 animated designs and checks every frame with a real QR decoder, so you know from which second the code scans.
Will an animated QR code scan reliably?
Only if every frame is readable, which is why we check. MostlyRender will not publish a motion poster until the code scans from the first half-second and in every frame after it. Phones, light and screens still vary, so test on the real display before you rely on it.
Where can I place the code on the canvas?
Anywhere on a poster, card, square, 16:9 TV or 9:16 story canvas. Live guardrails flag a code that is too small, too close to the edge, covered by another layer or sitting on too little contrast, before you can publish.
Can I add my own text, images and artwork?
Yes. Add text and image layers around the code. The foil designs also take your own artwork, printed into the foil.
What can I export?
A PNG still of the composed canvas. The animation itself plays live in the editor.
Is it still a dynamic QR code?
Yes. The code is a MostlyQR dynamic link, so you can repoint it from the MostlyQR dashboard after the poster is published and keep seeing scans by place, device and time. Repointing does not touch the design.
How do I get an animated code into MostlyRender?
Open the Motion step in the MostlyQR builder (a Pro feature), pick a design and press Customise in MostlyRender. Save the code first, so the poster links to its permanent short link, and sign in with the same Mostly Tiny account.
