Urlbox is a mature, dedicated screenshot API. Here’s where we differ — stated as facts, from our October 2026 review — so you can decide for your own workload.
Urlbox has far more render options than we do: ad and cookie-banner blocking, managed proxies, MP4 and WebM video, custom JavaScript and CSS, and capture of hard third-party sites on its higher plans. If you screenshot difficult sites at scale, it’s the stronger tool.
Our screenshot endpoint is deliberately simple: viewport, full page, retina scale and PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output. It doesn’t block ads or cookie banners, route through proxies or record video, and sites with strong bot protection may refuse it. We win on volume per dollar and on templates in the same account.
100 free renders a month. Bring a real workload and watch the meter — not a wall.

Yes, if your screenshots are straightforward and you want more of them for the money: our $49 Pro plan includes 10,000 renders against 5,000 on Urlbox’s Hi-Fi plan, and the same account also renders templates and PDFs. Urlbox is the deeper, dedicated screenshot API — ad and cookie-banner blocking, proxies, video and many more render options — and for hard-to-capture sites it is the better choice.
MostlyRender: Free 100 renders a month, Starter $19 (2,000), Pro $49 (10,000) and Scale $149 (50,000); one screenshot is one render. Urlbox in our October 2026 review: Lo-Fi $19 (2,000 renders, meant for sites you own, with low-quality captures of third-party sites), Hi-Fi $49 (5,000), Ultra $99 (15,000), Business from $495 a month plus $3 per 1,000 renders, and Enterprise from $3,000. Check their current pricing — this reflects our last review (October 2026).
Urlbox says it won’t cut off your service: past your plan’s renders you are moved to the next tier, with email alerts at 80%, 90% and 100% of usage. On a MostlyRender paid plan you stay on your plan and the extra renders are billed at $3–$5 per 1,000. Only our Free plan stops, at 100 a month.
For straightforward captures, yes: POST /v1/screenshots takes a URL, viewport size, fullPage, a retina scale up to 3 and PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output, synchronously or async with a signed webhook. Urlbox is ahead on depth: ad and cookie-banner blocking, managed proxies, MP4 and WebM video, AVIF, SVG and Markdown output, custom JavaScript and CSS, waiting for a selector, dark mode, S3 and Azure storage, and capture of all third-party sites on its higher plans.
Yes — 100 renders a month, forever, no card. Urlbox has no recurring free plan; in our October 2026 review it offered a 7-day free trial without a card.
