MostlyRender vs ScreenshotOne

The honest ScreenshotOne alternative.

ScreenshotOne is a deep, dedicated screenshot API. Here’s where we differ — stated as facts, from our October 2026 review — so you can decide for your own workload.

Where ScreenshotOne is genuinely strong

ScreenshotOne does far more with a URL than we do: ad and cookie-banner blocking, stealth mode, IP location, scrolling screenshots, video, caching and S3 upload. If screenshots are your whole product, it’s the stronger tool.

Where we’re still catching up

Our screenshot endpoint is deliberately simple: viewport, full page, retina scale and PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output. It doesn’t block ads or cookie banners, hide from bot protection or record video. We win when you also need templates, and on price from 10,000 a month.

MostlyRender vs ScreenshotOne: common questions

Is MostlyRender a good ScreenshotOne alternative?

Yes, if your screenshots are straightforward and you also generate images from your own data. MostlyRender puts URL screenshots, template renders and PDFs on one quota, and its Pro plan includes 10,000 renders for $49. ScreenshotOne is the deeper, dedicated screenshot API — ad and cookie-banner blocking, stealth mode, IP location and video — and if you need that depth, it is the better choice.

How does MostlyRender pricing compare to ScreenshotOne?

MostlyRender: Free 100 renders a month, Starter $19 (2,000, then $5 per 1,000), Pro $49 (10,000, then $4) and Scale $149 (50,000, then $3); one screenshot is one render. ScreenshotOne in our October 2026 review: Basic $17 (2,000 screenshots, then $0.009 each), Growth $79 (10,000, then $0.006) and Scale $259 (50,000, then $0.004), with two months free on annual billing. At 2,000 a month ScreenshotOne is $2 cheaper; at 10,000 and above we are. Check their current pricing — this reflects our last review (October 2026).

What happens when I hit my limit?

Neither of us cuts off a paid plan. ScreenshotOne bills each extra screenshot — $9, $6 or $4 per 1,000 depending on plan — and charges only for successful requests. MostlyRender bills $5, $4 or $3 per 1,000 and shows the projected overage on a meter before the invoice does. Both free allowances stop at 100 a month.

Can I switch from ScreenshotOne, and where is it ahead?

For simple captures, yes: POST /v1/screenshots takes a URL, viewport size, fullPage, a retina scale up to 3 and PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF output, synchronously or async with a signed webhook. ScreenshotOne is ahead on almost everything else a screenshot API does: blocking ads and cookie banners, stealth mode, choosing the IP location, scrolling screenshots and video, S3 upload, caching, GPU rendering and SDKs in seven languages. We offer none of those.

Does MostlyRender have a free tier?

Yes — 100 renders a month, forever, no card, and they can be screenshots or template renders. ScreenshotOne also gives 100 free screenshots a month without a card, so on the free allowance alone it is a tie.
